I would think it was of little help for new board members.
If someone has never worked in a precinct and has been asked to serve, we should start by explaining that there are 3 positions chair, vice chair and secretary. We should then explain what each members responsibilities are. We should explain L&A including security of scanners and filling out the paperwork.
We should explain responsibilities on election day, what happens at canvas, including a full description of what the envelopes 1-8 are for. What Post election day looks like and what our responsibilities as board members are with SDR and provisional.
The lady sitting beside me was anew member appointed in January she was asked to be secretary of her board and she had no idea what she had to do.

District meeting was not allotted enough time especially with voting to be accomplished.
1
Not enough class participation.

presenters didn't always seem to be knowledgeable enough about their topic to be "training" and answering questions. some of their answers were wholly incorrect which can be very troublesome and concerning when we're charged with the conduct of the elections in our localities. if you don't know an answer to a question, just say "i don't know, but I'll find out and share that information with the whole group".

Acoustics in ball room were poor for speakers who do not project voices. Hearing impaired attendees even with hearing aids could not hear presentations

We heard way to many war stories, I know they are fun to talk about, especially if we do something above and beyond, but we need to be directing our training to facts and the law. I heard way to many "this is how we do it" and "you may do it differently " there is only one grey book and we should stick to the right way or at least try to create a standard way to do things. We have seasoned professional Registrars who could be excellent teachers of the responsibilities of the Board members.
1
Ensure that presenters know their topic and can provide accurate information and responses. when you are new and you start out with the wrong information/instruction, that can be disastrous.

None of the presenters read the slides verbatim. They all did a great job.
1
some were too soft spoken and read the material
1
All presenters mean well, but I think we could be better educated by professionals

Variable. Best presenter John Nunnally.
1
difficulty hearing many of the presenters. screens were great, but some of the presenters flipped through their presentations so quickly, it was pointless to even have them. the information was there but we weren't given time to read it.
1
Knowledgeable but soft spoken couldn’t be heard mid room back

It was fine.

Presentations are hard to read (too small, highlighting). Additionally, using handheld microphones led to difficulty hearing as presenter would not hold it close when speaking. Some speakers did not speak loud enough even with mics. I noticed several attendees using canes, boots, walkers and wheelchairs, it may be helpful to have all training sessions on one floor.
1
Room should have been darkened when displaying slides.
1
content was good, but needed to be understood by those presenting

Make provisions for those not staying at the hotel. Some attendees traveled and did not stay overnight. Others had accommodations at local inns or homes. Things to consider: specific info on parking with shuttle service, meal tickets or code - Monday was handled however Tuesday the dining staff was very confused which took time to get resolved. Note - having vendors in a room is preferred to being in foyer blocking traffic BUT have the coffee, etc. more assessable - maybe have in two corners AND have small cans of soda available at breaks and breakfast.
