Training Opportunities

To assure that electoral board members charged with assisting voters and administering elections are properly prepared, various workshops are offered throughout the year. Training announced through the VEBA NEWS website is primarily geared to electoral board members, but may occasionally include registrars and other staff. Training may be offered through ELECT, VEBA, Districts, and individual localities.

ELECT Annual Training and Boot Camp

Pursuant to § 24.2-106 D of Virginia Code, each member of the Electoral Board shall attend an annual training program provided by the State Board during the first year of appointment and the first year of any subsequent reappointment.

Currently there are three annual Boot Camp opportunities (February, March, and July). Attendance at only one is required for credit which is given through the ELECT Learning Management System (LMS).

District Meetings

District meetings provide networking opportunities with other members in your area. The agenda may include special guests, topics on legislation, VEBA website content, the annual meeting, and other timely issues concerning EB members. Upcoming meetings will be announced here.
